Dorothea Kolossa

Profile

Dorothea Kolossa is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Communication Acoustics, Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany, where she is currently heading the Cognitive Signal Processing Group.

She has previously worked at TU Berlin, University of Hong Kong, NTT Communication Science Labs Kyoto and University of California, Berkeley and authored and co-authored more than 150 scientific papers and book chapters. Dorothea’s research interests are in machine learning for speech, audio and language processing, with a focus on robustness and reliability.

On the one hand, with respect to variabilities in the environment and on the other hand, in the sense of privacy preservation and IT security. She is a Board Member of the Information Technology Group of the VDE, Council Member of the EAA TC on Audio Signal Processing and an Associate Member of the IEEE Technical Committee for Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing.
